4.6 Macros Commands

Macros are lists of commands. Any series of operations that has to be performed frequently is a good candidate for being a macro.

Macros can be written manually: they are just ASCII files, each command occupying a line (lines starting with ‘#’ are considered comments; lines starting with other nonalphabetical characters are presently ignored). But the real power of macros is that they be recorded during the normal usage of ne. When the recording terminates, the operations that have been recorded can be saved for later use. Note that each document has its own current macro (the last macro that has been opened or recorded).
